Our Team

THE FOUNDERS

The founding members of Encomium 2020 are like-minded professionals with skills, abilities and habits that capacitate them to critically analyze, create or improve and implement effective programs and services. The team understands special challenges and opportunities the nonprofit sector presents, in its diverse context; nevertheless, they recognize the importance of cooperation and collaboration across localities and with external and community partners through leadership built on real introspection and human connection. They compliment one another with advanced communication skills appropriate for presenting initiatives, corresponding with colleagues and partners; facilitate ongoing learning and authoritatively assess the credibility of information that is required to empower communities by expanding the use of basic and advanced services, and enabling the development of additional livelihood assets.

WILLY KABIYAMBA – BOARD CHAIR

A hands-on and motivated professional, Willy has a broad range of experience across many sectors including; management, healthcare and not-for-profit. He strongly believes that the provision of meaning and purpose within the workplace results in engaged employees who live and breathe the behaviors that support sustained organizational success. This, he opines, is then transformed into actual respectful care for those in need by all employees and representatives of the organization. Willy is a humorous, loving father not only to his children but to all that he makes contact with which can mostly be attributed to his passion for happiness among especially children.

RITA TUHAIRWE – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

With over 10 years experience in the nonprofit sector, Rita commits to providing the highest level of service. She is charming, gracious and diverse, with richly developed insights that allow her to understand what makes other people tick. Combined with a genuine drive to assist people, Rita has a knack for effective governance and innovative technology solutions that facilitate growth. She has a special ability to see the potential growth of others, making her able to effectively lead a well-orchestrated team that meets the needs of those they serve with extraordinary results, creating lasting transformative partnerships. Driven by her passion for travel, Rita became fully aware of the dire need for intervention when she witnessed the abject poverty especially among families in rural areas that she often visited.
